Corwen Farmers Ltd are an agricultural co-operative society that serves the farmers in the area and the local community, the main area being from Llangollen along the A5 to Cerrig y drudion and Pentrefoelas and all the neighbouring villages around Corwen
ABOUT CORWEN FARMERS
The history of Corwen and District Farmers Ltd dates back to 1916 when a committee was formed to set up the society.
Among the main ones involved were
John Hughes Trewyn bach , W Roberts Tan y Gaer , W.R.Evans Bontbren, Peter Lloyn Bryn Berllan, John Ellis Rhydyfen , A.H.Jones Caenog and T.Jones Tyn Celyn Treddol.
A secretary was appointed a Mr Herd of Cefn Rug and in 1919 Mr Richard Owen was appointed Manager
The yard is situated on the old railway goods yard in Corwen , and most goods came on the railway from the mills on the Wirral , Liverpool and Manchester until the line closed in the 1960 s.
By now the society has changed over the years to supply the needs of today’s farmers .
